I changed products, which means you totally change codebase and infrastructure; I changed offices three times; I changed teams twice, just in Paris; and I didn’t speak French before arriving; and there was being a new mother.

For episode three I chatted with Shirley Gaw, who works on YouTube at Google’s Paris office, and has a 2.5-year-old daughter.

We talked about the mentors that encouraged her to major in computer science, the stresses of an international move during her pregnancy, and her variable access to maternity benefits from ergonomic review and nursing rooms to envy-inspiring on-site prenatal massage.
